Major VPS Update: Lower Prices, Better Plans, and Smarter Hosting at SunsetHost

Big News from SunsetHost: VPS Prices Slashed + Plan Updates Rolling Out! We’re thrilled to share some major updates to our VPS hosting services that reflect our ongoing mission to bring you cutting-edge infrastructure, improved value, and smarter solutions for modern virtual hosting.
Massive Price Drops for KVM and OpenVZ VPS Plans
Starting May 12th, SunsetHost is rolling out a major price reduction across our KVM and OpenVZ VPS offerings:
-
KVM VPS plans will be reduced by an incredible 50%
-
OpenVZ VPS plans will see a 25% price cut
These changes aren’t just about lowering costs—they’re part of a bigger vision: to make powerful, secure, and scalable VPS hosting more accessible and affordable for everyone, from individual developers to growing businesses.
Whether you’re hosting your own projects or managing infrastructure for clients, these savings go straight back into your budget—without compromising performance, reliability, or support.

Streamlining Plans: Farewell to Base 1 & 2
With our infrastructure optimizations and the shifting demands of today’s hosting market, we’ve decided to retire our entry-level Base 1 and Base 2 plans for both KVM and OpenVZ.
These plans were a great starting point, but we’ve outgrown them—along with many of you. Our current VPS lineup now offers more powerful, feature-rich options that are better suited for today’s workloads and performance standards.
Seamless Migration for Current Users
If you’re currently on one of these retiring plans, don’t worry—you won’t need to lift a finger. We’ll be automatically migrating all affected customers to the next tier in the VPS lineup. The best part?
-
No downtime
-
No disruption
-
No data loss
Our team has worked hard to make this transition as smooth as possible so your hosting continues uninterrupted.

Rollout Begins May 12th
The platform-wide implementation of these changes starts May 12th. Because we want everything done right, the rollout might take a little longer for some partners and regions—but rest assured, our engineering and support teams are on top of it every step of the way.
We’ll keep you updated, and if you have questions at any point, our support team is ready to help.
A Better Hosting Experience with SunsetHost
These changes reflect our continued promise to provide high-performance virtual servers at a price point that works for everyone. By focusing on quality, affordability, and transparency, SunsetHost is here to support your growth—whether you’re hosting a passion project, launching a startup, or managing infrastructure at scale.
Thank you for trusting SunsetHost as your VPS provider. We’re proud to be part of your journey—and even more excited for what’s ahead.
