[ad_1]In 2001, Robert Rodriguez’s Spy Kids gave fans of both family-friendly movies and spy tales a great blend of the two types. The movie is about Carmen and Juni Cortez, who get involved in their family’s spy business and find themselves in all kinds of trouble while trying to save the world. When this movie came out for the first time, it started a series. Millions of kids and adults alike knew they could be called fans when they left the theater. Within just over two years, two more Spy Kids movies came out. Spy Kids 2: The Island of Lost Dreams and Spy Kids 3-D: Game Over made the series a name that everyone knew.
The third movie in this series was also pretty innovative. At the time, 3D movies weren’t very popular, but the DVDs of this movie came with simple 3D glasses and a special version of the movie that told viewers when to put them on. Fans everywhere felt like this series was just getting started, even though the fourth movie, Spy Kids: All the Time in the World, wouldn’t come out until 2011. After another 12 years, Spy Kids fans will finally get the fifth movie in the series, Spy Kids: Armageddon. A release date has been set for the movie. So, keeping that in mind, here’s what we know so far about Spy Kids: Armageddon.

“I don’t know if I can say the release date, but it’s coming, it’s this year. We haven’t announced it yet, but it’s coming this year. I just finished scoring it, so you know, we’re still waiting for visual effects. It won’t be done until August, so it won’t be any earlier than August.”

What Is ‘Spy Kids: Armageddon’ Plot?
Since the first Spy Kids movie came out over 20 years ago, Spy Kids: Armageddon won’t be able to rely on those who loved it back then. Instead, it must appeal to a new group of people who might like Spy Kids. With that in mind, this fifth movie in the series is a “reboot” that is meant to present Spy Kids to a whole new generation. The original plot summary for the movie Spy Kids: Armageddon is as follows:
“The children of the world’s greatest secret agents unwittingly help a powerful game developer unleash a computer virus that gives him control of all technology, leading them to become spies themselves to save their parents and the world.”
This description sounds a lot like the synopsis for the first movie, which makes sense since this is a reboot. Still, the promise that our favorite spy family will have to save the world is just what fans wanted, and now, more than ever, they can’t wait for the next movie to come out.
Where Did The Title Come From?
Spy Kids: Armageddon was first thought of as the name of the fourth movie in the series in 2011. This was changed to Spy Kids: All the Time in the World instead, and Armageddon was put away for a later project. Fans were happy that the term was used again because they could see their favorite young secret agents again.
