Three booked for immigration fraud | Chandigarh News
[ad_1]The Zirakpur police Sunday booked three persons for immigration fraud. The complainant, Khamosh Kumar, stated to the police that he wanted to go abroad and met accused Kamal Sharma, Dharminder Singh and Chander Jasuja.
The complainant alleged that the accused had duped him to the tune of Rs 16.50 lakh. The accused had also taken his passport and refused to return it to him.

The victim also alleged the accused refused to return his money when he demanded it back.
Khamosh lodged a complaint with the police in November 2022, following which the DSP (cyber crime and forensic) conducted an inquiry and recommended registration of the case.
Acting on the recommendation, the Zirakpur police registered a case under sections 406 (criminal breach of trust), 420 (cheating) and 120-B (criminal conspiracy) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) and Section 13 of the Punjab Travel Professionals Act at Zirakpur police station.
